This specialized PhD academic training is organized by the Centre for Migration Studies (CMS) at the University of Ghana under the umbrella of the Cluster of Research Excellence (CoRE) in Migration and Health, African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA), and in partnership with the Global Health and Migration Unit (GHM) in the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health, Uppsala University, Sweden.

🎯 About the Programme

This workshop aims to enhance participants' understanding of the complexities of migration and forced displacement in Africa, with a specific focus on gendered dynamics. It provides a platform for PhD candidates and early-career researchers to:

• Deepen their theoretical and practical knowledge of migration patterns and forced displacement.
• Apply a gender transformative lens to their research.
• Improve their research writing, data analysis, and policy engagement skills.
• Draft academic manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
• Learn to conduct migration impact analysis relevant to African and global contexts.
